It has been shown that silencing of IL-6 expression by small-interfering RNA in PCa cell lines dramatically decreases cell growth, and this event is accompanied by downregulation of Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and phosphorylation of AKT, MAPK, and STAT3 both in vivo and in vitro [167].
