In the present study, using the human diploid, karyotypically stable colorectal cancer cell line DLD-1, we elucidated the role of CKAP2 in the formation of the spindle pole, correlated its expression with partners that are known to play a role in the spindle formation, and finally investigated the cellular mechanism by which chromosomal instability arises in cells with altered expression of CKAP2. This evidence concerns the gene CKAP2 and colorectal cancer.
