IFNG and cancer: Also the cut-off value which distinguishes TU from NU in both hyper- and hypo- methylated markers were lower in urine than in the tissue for all cancer types, except in IFNG. These results suggested that either the copy number of methylated CpG loci in urine sediments was difficult to be detected because of low DNA quality, or the concentration of cancer cells were diluted by the presence of other unrelated cells in the urine.
