In the MRL-Faslpr mouse model of SLE, IL-10 deficiency exacerbates the development of disease, including a reduction in the survival rate, increased severity of glomerulonephritis and skin lesions, enhanced production of pathogenic IgG2a/2b antibodies and an increased population of IFN-γ-producing T cells [83]. Here, IL10 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
