TNF and sympathetic ophthalmia: Human genome-wide microRNA array revealed downregulation of four microRNAs (hsa-miR-1, hsa-let-7e, hsa-miR-9, hsa-miR-182) associated with the inflammatory signaling pathway, and that of these four, one microRNA (hsa-miR-9) has validated targets associated with mitochondrial oxidative stress that are thought to result in photoreceptor cell death in sympathetic ophthalmia, TNF-α and NF-κB [52].
