CD68 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: [24] Likewise, our current study indicates that myeloid cluster infiltration in uninvolved LNs of NSCLC patients correlates with occult metastasis and prognosis. However, it is important to note that the correlation does not equal causation. Myeloid cluster accumulation in NSCLC pre-metastatic LNs may occur as a secondary event during metastatic progression. Thus, direct evidence would be necessary to prove that CD68+ myeloid clusters are responsible for priming NSCLC nodal metastasis.
