MALAT1 (metastasis associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1) is a long non-coding RNA of 8.7 kb that functions in mRNA splicing [61] and has been reported to be strongly overexpressed in various human solid carcinomas, including lung, breast, pancreas, colon, prostate, endometrial stromal sarcoma and HCC (for references see [53]). This evidence concerns the gene MALAT1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
