SFRP5 and infectious otitis media: We examined the effect of the combination diet on the expression of SFRP5, and a WNT downstream target gene Cyclin D1 in AOM-treated normal-appearing colons because hypermethylation of promoter SFRP5 (unpublished data), epigenetic silencing of SFRP5 gene and activation of the WNT pathway (accumulation of β-catenin nuclear translocation and increased Cyclin D1 gene expression) were observed by us in AOM model.
