Further analysis of subcellular distributions showed that p53, HIPK2, TP53INP1α, and TP53INP1β all localize into the pro-myelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies, PML-NB, which are cell cycle-regulated nuclear structures appearing as punctate foci in interphase nuclei (Tomasini, 2003). Here, TP53INP1 is linked to myeloid leukemia.
