In chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells, up-regulation of miR-17∼92 family miRNAs by Toll-like-receptor-9 agonists is preceded by a transient induction of the proto-oncogene Myc, and forced expression of miR-17, a major member from the miR-17∼92 family, reduces TP53INP1 expression and protects cells against apoptosis (Bomben et al., 2012). Here, TP53INP1 is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
