FOXP1 and Parkinson disease: Supporting the notion of disease relevance, this network included several known PD-related genes such as the transcriptional regulator FOXP1 (Kim et al., 2007), that promotes midbrain dopaminergic identity in stem cells (Konstantoulas et al., 2010), which was identified as alternatively spliced in this study and was predicted as targeted by the PD dys-regulated hsa-miR-320 cluster.
