IRF6 and neoplasm: Reexpression of IRF-6 in the context of primary human keratinocytes expressing both ΔNp63α and a mutant v-ras 12 oncogene was found to abolish the ability of ΔNp63α to promote colony growth and restore oncogene induced senescence [101], supporting a role for IRF6 in regulating ΔNp63α as part of its tumor suppressor function.
