Therefore, we initially provide details of proteins which were differentially expressed in our study of isoproterenol-induced hypertrophy and the expression of which are in consistence with the prior studies in other models (such as endothelin-1(ET-1) or leukemic inhibitory factor (LIF) induced hypertrophy models or other models of heart failure, strokes, myocardial infarction MI(s) etc.), followed by detailed description of protein prohibitin, which we speculate as a novel potential biomarker in isoproterenol-induced hypertrophy. This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and heart failure.
