Two recent reports demonstrated that following myocardial infarction delivery of Gata4, Mef2c, and Tbx5, or GATA4, HAND2, MEF2C, and TBX5 in the injured myocardium successfully reprogrammed cardiac fibroblasts into cardiomyocytes [16], [17]. This evidence concerns the gene MEF2C and myocardial infarction.
