In contrast, high levels of DNA methylation (96.6%) were observed in the T47D cell line (Figure 5C), indicating that repression of TFPI-2 mediated by expression of the long LCT13 RNA in breast cancer cells can in some instances lead to subsequent methylation of the TFPI-2 CGI, which may reflect dissimilarities in differentiation potential between the MCF-7 and T47D cell lines.
