The gene Deleted in Malignant Brain Tumors 1 (DMBT1) was identified more than a decade ago as a region of chromosome 10q25.3-q26.1 based on homologous deletions and lack of expression in medulloblastoma, glioblastoma multiforme, lung and gastrointestinal cancers and has been suggested as a potential tumor-suppressor gene [1]–[5]. This evidence concerns the gene DMBT1 and neoplasm.
