In PPARα-deficient mice, dysregulation of SREBP-mediated lipogenic genes was noticed [33], suggesting the role of PPARα in SREBP-mediated regulation of lipogenic genes in mouse model of dyslipidemia [14], in the present study, further confirming hawthorn's lipid-lowering effects via downregulation of genes involved in lipid synthesis. This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and metabolic syndrome.
