The serum CRP concentrations (mean ± SD) of patients with bacterial infections (221.9 ± 65.2 mg/L) were significantly higher (P < 0.05) than those of the patients with viral infections (14.0 ± 13.8 mg/L) or of the controls (4.6 ± 7.0 mg/L). Here, CRP is linked to viral infectious disease.
