When mice were bled throughout a course of L. mexicana infection, we found that IgG1 recognition of GIPLs increased rapidly between 10 and 20 wks of infection (Fig. 4), consistent with the time when chronic lesions plateau in size (B6 mice) rather than resolving in strains of mice that heal (IL-10 KO and FcγRIII KO mice) [17], [27]. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and infection.
