In these same subjects when both the blood sugar and insulin levels were determined, it was found that the hyperglycemia was controlled [i.e., the blood glucose level was found to be reduced from 275 mg/dL (Median) to 115 mg/dL (Median)] (Fig. 3) with the concomitant increase of plasma insulin levels [from 7.5 μunits/dL (Median) to 101.5 μunits/dL (Median)] (Fig. 4).
