Of note, all three patients with pancreatic cancer were found to have mtp53 tumors, and all three patients with renal cell carcinoma were found to have wtp53. Mutant p53 tumors metastasized more frequently to the liver than did wtp53 bearing tumors (69.2% vs. 43.0%) (p = 0.002). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and renal cell carcinoma.
