Given that pharmacologically we have illustrated a similar attenuation of fibrotic biomarker expression profile in injured Tenon's capsule with WFA (reduced vimentin, skp2 and α-SMA expression and increased p27kip1 expression) in GFS, we believe this anti-fibrotic molecular signature is an attractive mechanism worthy of pursuit in glaucoma surgery because it is also pharmacologically tractable.
