When the top selected genes up-regulated in HD patients were analyzed using the IPA software, we found that in the higher scored network (n = 44, p < 0.0001) were included genes encoding for biological elements primarily involved in chronic inflammation (PTX3, IL-15, IL-8), dendritic cells maturation (CD86), migration and adhesion of monocytes (CXCL3) (Figure 2A). Here, CD86 is linked to Huntington disease.
