It has been shown that the three main polymorphisms (E2, E3, E4), coded by the ε2, ε3, and ε4 alleles on chromosome 19, of the apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene result in differential risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) for those who carry them [1-6]. The gene discussed is APOE; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
