Particularly relevant to this result, the level of 13-HODE in cancer tissue (49.6±14.0 pg/mg, mean ±SEM) was significantly (P<0.05, paired t-test) higher than that of normal tissue (23.8±5.1) in patients with >20 Mib1 scores yet was virtually identical in patients with ≤20 Mib1 scores, i.e. 15.0±1.8 in cancer, 14.2±1.9 in normal tissue. This evidence concerns the gene MIB1 and cancer.
