Overexpression of erbB2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2), also known as HER2, is membrane-associated tyrosine kinase that can lead to the activation of cellular signal transduction systems, resulting in the cellular transformation and cell proliferation events associated with cancer, such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer and gastric cancer [7], [8], [9]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is ovarian cancer.
