The prevalence of functional thyroid outcomes in the study cohort was as follows: 2.95% for hypothyroidism (n = 319 including 18 cases of overt hypothyroidism); 1.26% for hyperthyroidism (n = 137 including 13 cases of overt hyperthyroidism); 5.74% for elevated ATPO (n = 622); and 0.80% for AIT (n = 87). This evidence concerns the gene ATP5PO and hyperthyroidism.
