GPT and Cirrhosis: After comparing the changes in liver function after right hepatectomy between living donors and hepatic patients without cirrhosis, Li et al[17] found that the bilirubin levels of donors were significantly increased on the first and third postoperative days, which were much higher than the levels of the hepatic patients without cirrhosis; however, by the 7th postoperative day, the AST and ALT levels became similar between the two groups.
