Latent Membrane Protein 1 (LMP1) from Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is thought to be the major oncogene accounting for most of EBV-related malignancies, including Burkitt lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, gastric carcinoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) [1]. The gene discussed is PDLIM7; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
