Interestingly, our analysis of CALGB80303 (gemcitabine ± bevacizumab in advanced pancreatic cancer) indicated VEGF-D as a potential predictive marker for benefit from bevacizumab, where low levels predicted for benefit from bevacizumab and high levels predicted for lack-of-benefit from bevacizumab 10. Here, VEGFD is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
