Compared with the subjects in the control group, subjects in the NAFLD group had higher age, number of men who smoked cigarettes, BMI, waist circumference, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and higher levels of AST, ALT, GGT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, creatinine, eGFR, fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, and leptin (all P<0.05). The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
