Compared with the subjects in the control group, subjects in the NAFLD group had higher age, number of men who smoked cigarettes, BMI, waist circumference, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and higher levels of AST, ALT, GGT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, creatinine, eGFR, fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, and leptin (all P<0.05). This evidence concerns the gene INS and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
