We demonstrated that the S100A7 gene controls proliferation and invasion of MDA-MB-468 cells at least in part through the activation of NF-κB and its target genes, such as MMP-9 and VEGF expression, resulting in the inhibition of invasion and proliferation, which could be useful for devising novel preventive and therapeutic strategies for breast cancer. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and breast cancer.
