This paper aims to illustrate the correlation between oxidative stress, obesity, and CVDs, especially focusing on the 66-kilodalton (kDa) isoform of the growth factor adapter Shc (p66Shc) and some isoforms of the protein kinase C (PKC) family that are particularly sensitive to redox stress and are implicated both in CVDs and obesity [6–8]. This evidence concerns the gene PRRT2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
