As functional cross regulation between the NF-κB and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways has emerged as a pivotal mechanism for the regulation of a diverse array of genes involved in tumorigenesis, including HCC [37–40], results reported here in conjunction with our earlier communication [35] indisputably establish the “proof-of-principle” of simultaneously targeting two interconnected molecular circuits, namely, canonical NF-κB and Wnt/β-catenin pathways, to achieve prevention of hepatocellular cancer (summarized in Figure 7). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
