ACE and hydrops fetalis: Analysis of prescription-filling patterns in 54,153 U.S. Medicare beneficiaries with at least one hospitalization for HF (with no EF-based exclusion criteria) between 1995 and 2003 revealed that only 49%, 29%, and 5% filled prescriptions for ACE-inhibitors/ARBs, beta-blockers, and spironolactone, respectively within 90 days of HF hospitalization, and optimal adherence (≥ 80% adherence) to these medication was <55% [129].
