MYC and cancer: The oncogene c-Myc is recognized to play an important role in activation of genes of enzymes of glycolysis and Krebs cycle as well as those involved in chromatin structure, and its transcriptional networks that are involved predominantly in cell cycle regulation and cellular metabolism and protein synthesis specific to the G0-G1-S transition in cancer cells, lymphocytes, and in embryonic stem cell (Kim et al., 2010; Swami, 2010; Lin et al., 2012).
