Calcium-activated chloride channels (CLCAs) also are expressed in bovine [14], mouse [15] and human [16] enterocytes and there is an inverse correlation between the levels of chloride channel (CLCA1 and CLCA2) expression and tumorigenicity, indicating that they act as suppressors of breast and colorectal cancer [17], [18], [19]. Here, CLCA1 is linked to colorectal cancer.
