The mechanisms linked to the inhibition of cell proliferation and tumor growth after STIM1 silencing were rather similar to our previous report which we show that RNAi-mediated silencing of the protein iASPP also results in G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in glioblastoma U251 cells, with concomitant changes in the expression of cyclin D1 and p21wafl/cip1[36]. Here, STIM1 is linked to glioblastoma.
