Recently a meta-analysis had demonstrated that the variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) allele polymorphism of Dendritic cell-specific intercellular adhesion molecule-3-grabbing nonintegrin related (DC-SIGNR) might have a role in resistance to HIV infection, particularly in Asian populations [26], while the other two studies had found that susceptibility of HIV-1 infection was not significantly affected by the polymorphisms CCR2-Val64Ile and CCR5-Δ32 [27], [28]. This evidence concerns the gene CLEC4M and HIV infectious disease.
