Based on the well-established susceptibility of the Nf1 mutant background used in our models, we assessed NF1 status in radiation-induced breast cancers from survivors of HD (none having NF1) and found evidence of NF1 loss of heterozygosity (Choi et al., 2012), indicating that this loss occurs in human SMNs. This evidence concerns the gene NF1 and Huntington disease.
