CACNA2D3 is located at 3p21.1, a chromosomal region frequently deleted in lung [20], esophageal [6], [7], nasopharyngeal [21] and renal cell [22] cancers, suggesting that the existence of tumor suppressor gene(s) within the region that plays a critical role in the development and progression in various solid malignancies including ESCC. Here, CACNA2D3 is linked to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
