Bevacizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that neutralizes the activity of VEGF.[8] Bevacizumab prevents the binding of all VEGF isoforms to VEGF receptors, and is currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical use in recurrent glioblastoma, metastatic colorectal cancer, advanced nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer, and metastatic kidney cancer (www.fda.gov on 02/05/2012). This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and metastatic colorectal cancer.
