IKBKB and neoplasm: Interestingly, in the FL-N/35 HCV transgenic mouse model, where the tumors show strong activation of both LT and NF-κB, abrogation of the canonical NF-κB pathway by hepatocyte-specific IKKβ ablation, led to a dramatic decrease in tumor incidence, arguing for a major role of NF-κB in promoting tumorigenesis in the context of HCV.
