Neutrophil secretory products such as myeloperoxidase, elastase, gelatinase, interleukin-8 and leukotriene-B4 are found in high concentrations at sites of inflammation, such as RA synovial fluid [6], [7], [8], [9] and the COPD lung, [10] and neutrophils have been shown to be critical to the initiation and progression of inflammatory arthritis in animal models of disease [11].
