In brief, based on our study, we concluded that high expression of OGT promoted the increase of O-GlcNAcation in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and the high level of O-GlcNAcation may stabilize proteins, leading to changes in cellular signal transduction and resulting tumorigenesis and metastasis. The gene discussed is OGT; the disease is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
