We actually observed that CCL2/MCP1, the main ligand of CCR2, was highly expressed during both infections with K. rhinoscleromatis and K. pneumoniae, suggesting that CCL2/MCP1 signalling on CCR2 does not play a major role in the K. rhinoscleromatis-specific inflammatory monocytes recruitment in this particular disease (Supporting Information Fig 5). This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and infection.
