Pairwise comparison of the densitometric analysis of the immunoblots (using the ratio of VEGF/actin) of the tumor nodules harvested from 4 different mice demonstrate that the p27IRES VEGF expressing cells maintained significantly higher levels of VEGF expression in the face of mTOR inhibition (P < 0.05) (Figure 5(b)), confirming that our transgene was able to maintain ectopic VEGF expression in the p27IRES-VEGF tumors in vivo.
