PEBP1 and neoplasm: In many other studies, loss of RKIP protein has been associated with poor prognosis [18], [22], [25]–[28], [30], [33], [34], but at variance, many studies, including ours, have come out showing the absence of RKIP in primary tumors independently of associations with presence of tumor metastasis or prognosis [10], [11], [24], [28], [31], [32], [45], [46].
