Temsirolimus, an mTOR inhibitor (also known as CCI-779), is an analog of Sirolimus (rapamycin) that has demonstrated immunosuppressive activity against melanoma in preclinical models and revealed benefits in patients with breast and renal carcinoma (Hidalgo and Rowinsky, 2000; Huang and Houghton, 2003; Lu et al., 2003). Here, MTOR is linked to melanoma.
