Notably, EZH2 expression is upregulated in ovarian cancer stem cell-like cells enriched by chemotherapy (Rizzo et al., 2011) and knockdown of EZH2 leads to loss of stem cell-like properties in these cells (Rizzo et al., 2011), such as anchorage-independent growth and tumor growth in xenograft mouse model.
