MYCN and neoplasm: Judware and Culp (1997) demonstrated that MYCN overexpression could alter the cell–matrix and cell–cell interactions by reducing expression of α2, α3, β1 integrin subunits. Caveolin-1 is also directly repressed by MYCN (Park et al., 2001) and its down-regulation elicits anchorage-independent growth and tumor formation (Galbiati et al., 1998).
